Movie Web upcoming Animated Films

http://movieweb.com/movies/2015/animation/

movie web has a comprehensive list of animated films upcoming for release over the next year. Pixar’s Inside Out, The Little Prince, studio Ghibli’s When Marnie was There and the much anticipated Peanuts movie are amongst the listings, which is interesting for it’s blend of signature Schultz cartoon drawings rendered in 3d. For the Snoopy purist, this may seem like a sad departure from the original 2d cartoon versions. (Charles ‘Charlie Brown’ Schultz) insisted in his last will and testament that no Peanuts cartoons were ‘ever to be modified’ so the filmmakers have walked a fine line with this new version. The designs are indeed true to the original characters, to see them rendered in a 3D world is quite shocking at first. With cartoon facial features blended in to the 3D design, it feels somewhat like the original films but with much brighter colours, shadows and a departure from the original musical style, the trailer promises to bring the Peanuts gang to a new generation of young fans, who I think will love it. One last thing, Woodstock didn’t even get a mention in the character list, which I found a little bit sad.. as we all know, Woodstock is the real hero in all Peanut’s stories !
